Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33)
I’m a cradle Catholic and “faith” was nothing more than a word. Going to church was at my convenience and availability.
My marriage began well until the arrival of my children. Things got quite rough and often escalated into quarrels between my husband and I. Having zero spirituality prompted me to follow my friends’ advice of seeking out astrologers, palm readers and fortune-tellers to change my life. I also prayed in different temples. However nothing changed. I just could not take it anymore.
One day, I stepped into an empty and quiet church. I knelt in front of the sanctuary and cried helplessly. As I looked up towards the altar, a voice said, “I love you, go now.” My tears immediately stopped and I went home perturbed. The next day, I disposed off my expensive astrology books and charm beads.
The changes began. I started to pray and went to church every Sunday without fail and I confessed my sins of idolatry. I found peace. Grace found me and I began to take small steps with faith.
